SR5 HHs and Sterling HHs

I'm trying to decide between an HH sterling and an HH SR5. I hate these 'bass x vs. bass y' threads, but are there any sound differences between the two basses? (besides the extra string)

ie. Sterling wired in series...is the SR5? Preamps different? Ceramic pickups on both?

This reminds me of when I was a newbie and started the the dreaded 'stingray vs sterling' thread, but this is different somehow. I deleted that thread because I was embarrassed, I may do the same with this.

Just out of curiosity, since you're comparing MM basses, how come you didn't throw a "Bongo" into the mix??

I know what a bongo sounds like. Everyone knows they are fantastic, but Sterling HH and SR5 HH are similar, no?

I am buying one of the two, unless someone has an HH bongo for sale...
