Hm. No, I don't think so. There were dual PU StingRays before the change back ALNICO in 2008.

OK well I already been wrong about what I recall, but ....

IIRC [lol] an HH has no dummy coil at all, and so would
not that mean that all switch positions hafta be parallel,
to avoid hum ?

Both series and parallel wiring are hum-cancelling.

I'm pretty sure that the SR5's with multiple pickups were pretty much all series wiring. My SR5HS is ceramic, and it is like that. It's not a HUGE difference in sound. I think more of that comes from the ceramic-style pickups. Also the S pickup on the HS has neodymium magnets I think.
