So here's one for you: What sort of switching did the pre-1992 SR5's use? I'm talking about before the 3-coil pickups. Anyone?

From what I was told the switch does the same thing as the post 92's.

#1 position (towards the neck) = Parallel
#2 position (middle) = Single Coil
#3 position (bridge) = Series

Correct me if I'm wrong. I always play in position #1 though.

There was a an EBMM brochure from the late 80s that showed position 3 (closest to neck) as the classic Stingray tone. It was a misprint.

I got both an 88 and a 95 and they sport the same pu switching.

So then where does the phantom coil come in? Are the post 92 SR5's series-single w/phantom-parallel? Also, does anyone have a schematic of the 95's electronics? I looked on Gav's site and he doesn't seem to.
