Agreed!

"Customizing" my Bongo starts and ends with strap selection. ;)

A set of EB Superlocks are permissable too... But try to use the original screws and spacers! :)

Personally I could care less if someone wants to mod their instrument. I'm just not interested in doing it.

Now if SLO put that SR5 out in that config originally I might be inclined to eat my shorts.

Wait a second. People are freaking out because someone modified the pickups of their bass. But some people here in the forums are suggesting I modify my neck. lol

Anyway, what about pickguards, knobs, and strings? Or do you use the same gauge/brand strings that came on your bass? :p
I too am curious what that frankenstein looks like under the pickguard.

only because they took something good and made it bad.. i mean worse.. ;)
what you would be doing might be considered nirvana for some bongoloids!

bare necks like the rosewood ones are unbelievably soothing to touch!!!!!!

I would think its way more likely to be aftermarket than a one off.

Dont know how or why it would benefit the guys at EB to make a one or two off SR5 with P/J pups, UNLESS it was for an artist that you just couldnt say no to.

I would like to know how it sounds mind you. As a man who loves his SR5 I don't get it. But it is his bass.

ever look at the stingray used by the bassist for sublime? his stingray is a 4 string but the pickup configuration is very similar... if he thinks it sounds better or makes him play better because of it more power to him, the guy's freakin' good... whatever works - to each his (her) own
