i've many questions

why the neck of koa model is varnished
regard of the wood perhaps

is there a big sound difference beetween koa and standard

koa was it more brigther or warm

Neck wood on the koa is mahogany.
If I recall correctly... far more porous then maple and as such, requires a finish.

I have not played a Koa, but when you consider:

Alder body/maple neck/rosewood fretboard
vs
Mahogany body/koa top/mahogany neck/ebony fretboard

I know they sound different...
If i had the cash i would be playing a koa right now :D

Sure someone here will have played both and will give a comparison. :)
