Has anyone ever swapped them? I just bought a super sport with a standard and would like to possibly if its not too much trouble put in a vintage. Is the vintage similar to the trem on the JP. I used to have a JP6 and really liked the trem on it. Where would I be able to find a vintage trem anyways?

Thanks,
Jim

Standard - Music Man® strings-thru-the-body bridge of chrome plated, hardened steel with solid steel saddles Optional - Music Man® vintage tremolo Optional

I believe....

Standard = Hardtail (string through body)

Optional = Vintage Trem

The vintage trem is the only trem bridge option.

The standard referred to is the fixed bridge - string through hardtail

(edit) - I guess I'm the slowest typist :eek:

You'd basically have to butcher that sweet looking ASS.
(Major Routing / Drilling etc)

Leave it alone and get one with a trem :)

PS : Hardtails rule. ;)

What everyone else said, massive job, lots of risks, financially questionable...just buy one with a trem!

Leave it as it is and if you want a vintage vibrato, sell the guitar and get one that has one installed already from the factory.

If you swap your hard tail bridge for a vintage trem, you will definitely have a huge decrease in the value of your instrument, no matter how good the craftsman that does it might be.

Plus, you will experience a change in the tone of your guitar, because a lot of the body wood needs to be taken away, let alone the difference in sound that there is between a hard tail and a vibrato.

Thanks guys. That's all I wanted to know. I will not be touching it. I was just wondering how difficult/expensive it might be.
