Yet another awesome PDN edition from EBBM. Roasted maple neck, ebony fretboard (yes!), stainless steel frets and of course that gorgeous starry night finish! What's not to love..

Just curious which forum members placed an order this time. If so, what model? I went for a Stingray. Wanted something new, and with the extra long headstock there's even more roasted maple on this one 😉.

I ordered a JP6 Standard, with Piezo and Non Matching Headstock.
I wish they didn't exclude the X Models, as I would've loved to get a JPX or JPXI. Don't understand why they're excluded at all. :(

AL HH trem w/ matching headstock on order.
This is the first PDN finish in the few years I've been around here that really caught my attention and made me go "schwing!!".
However, way more important than the finish is that this is finally a chance for me to get an HHAL with not only a maple neck, but a ROASTED maple neck!!!! .....and SS frets (which I love).... And I'm a big fan of no inlays as well.
So this particular run just checked ALL the right boxes for me!

I'm dying to see what a sparkle will look like with a matte finish. My guess is that it is going to be really cool - and unique.

Congrats!!

Can't wait to see it; I was going to order a Majesty 7 but I just can't envision a satin sparkle... be sure to take a ton of pics to make me green with envy!

Just curious which forum members placed an order this time. If so, what model?.

I pulled the trigger on a Luke3 HH, with non-matching headstock. It was really hard to choose what to do. Considered Cutlass, Silo HSH. Finally decided I NEED those sweet Transition humbucker tones.

Now for the impatient waiting part!

Couldn't find any reseller in France for an HH Luke III :( Hope I'll find a second hand one in some years. What was your price for those ones ?

I'm so tempted by a Cutlass in this run. I already got a price from Pete, then went to GC and played a Cutlass just to make sure on this model. To PDN or not to PDN, that is the question.

What did you think of the Cutlass? I don't have much of a history playing F guitars (my son has a Tele that is a quality instrument, but I haven't played it very much - hard to reach past one of my MM models to pick that one up!) so I think I'm not in the target market for that model. I briefly played one in a shop last week, but opted to go a different route for this PDN run. But then it may just be that I'm still too taken with humbucker sounds...

The Cutlass is a great "S" guitar and the pickups are very good. I'm partial to thick humbucker sounds as well, but still seek those sweet single-coil tones. A couple of things to try for the Single-Coils:

1: The Tone knob is your friend
2: Dial in your amp/rig settings for the Single-Coils. Seldom does one amp/pedal setting work perfectly for both a HB and SC.

Give your ears a chance to adjust to the tones as well. Maybe try out your son's T to test this

So I've been a humbucker guy since my first real electric. Back then my choices were pretty much LP or Strat....and being a harder rock kinda guy, I went with the LP. 15 or so guitars and ~30 years later, and all of my guitars at least have a humbucker in the bridge. I've always said I'd never own a Strat because I don't like the single coil noise or how thin I remember them sounding. Then a few years ago I bought a MIM Strat to play with. I NEVER realized what I was missing. The character and tone from single coils in the SSS config is just over the top inspiring for me. I can't believe I didn't try this sooner.

So now I want a good quality one. I haven't been impressed with the build quality or feel of any of the Strats I've tried...so a PDN Cutlass is on order.

Just something to think about.
Mike
