Last Saturday I was doing some recordings of whole night wedding party play of my band. Nothing special, just using an audio signal from mixing console master post fader out directly into the external USB sound card of notebook computer. That's what I do time after time for archive!
What I want to say, well, I'm really happy how my Sterling 5 HS sounds, especially perfect matching with my drummers kick (bass) drum (Yamaha Maple Custom/Japan)! I must just add that sound of my bass goes through bass amp head direct via DI out into the mixing console, so there's no electronic influence to the sound (amp EQ set flat), I was only added some treble boost on the mix-console channel.
I'm sure that my bass could do the great job in some quality studio for recording!
P.S. ...one special question for EBMM experts, well I've noticed and have a feeling that my bass built in preamp does have kind of light electronic limiter integrated?
Right or wrong?
For sure it was not influence of my bass amp head limiter, 'cause it works post DI output, just in final after master volume pot!
Felling is even stronger in center switch position when all coils+dummy are on and when slapping!
