Hi there ladies and gentleman, 1st post from a newb. I purchased a Sterling AX3(about 3 weeks ago) and I purchased a Dimarzio Tone Zone last week. So I waited to replace the strings to new(EVH .9-.46) and new mini locking tunners when I changed to the new pickup, so I did. First thing I noticed while doing this and noticed the factory bridge pickup had an Axis sticker on it with a R(I assume rear) stamped into the metal frame on the back. Do anyone think this is an actual Axis pickup? So I installed the pickup(new strings, tunners) and played a bit and thought, maybe the factory pickup sounds better? I've also heard that the Tone Zone is affected by height and pole height more than most pickups. Anyone have any knowledge of this? And does anyone know if I can install a D-tuna on an AX3s vintage tremolo bridge? Sorry for all the ?s. Thanks in advance.
