So this poor, lonely AX40 had been floating around our local GC for a few months now. Every time I saw it I admired the color and thought what a fabulous girl-guitar it would be.
Well, last week, there it was…still there…with a clearance tag on it. So I thought “what the heck…” I picked it up and played it for a while and was extremely impressed! So our guitar pusher, I mean salesman, made me an offer I couldn’t refuse and I decided to rescue this pretty girl from the GC torture chamber.
I still can’t get over what a killer instrument this is, especially for the money!
Beautiful color/finish over nice quilt, binding, Floyd-type trem & locking nut, matching headstock, great sounding zebra pups, even pearly tuner buttons. That’s a lot of guitar for $350!
They call it trans purple, but it truly is more of a magenta / fuchsia color. Very pretty! And it’s interesting how it changes color tone depending on the light.
I’m still trying to find out if this color is/was a limited/exclusive run or not…???
Anyone know the answer??
