I have a gorgeous EBMM Axis SS. I also have a Sterling Axis which is also very nice for the money.
I have an issue with the Sterling Axis with tuning stability and I believe this is because of the tuners. Does anyone have any recommendations for replacement tuners for the Sterling?
Also, with the EBMM Axis, I really love the guitar but I'm finding the pickups not to my liking. Infact, I like the Sterling Axis pickups a lot more (especially the neck)! I find the EBMM Axis pickups a little dull for the neck pickup and also insufficient output.
My favorite humbucker pickups are the PRS DGT pickups but they're hard to find and I don't know if they'd directly fit into the Axis's cavity. I also like the Suhr Thornbuckers (from what I've heard online) but again, I'm not sure if they're compatible with the Axis directly.
I hear Dimarzio is the way to go. Any recommendations on good pickups for EBMM Axis? Primary interested in neck replacement...but I think the bridge could be better too (more harmonics etc.). If anyone knows where I can buy a Sterling Axis Neck pickup, I'd be interested. Please let me know your thoughts.
