i was just curious how ebmm gets involved with guitarists for creating signature models. does ebmm ask artists who them come in contact with them and ask them if they want an instrument or do the artists come to ebmm asking? just curious how it all starts!

I'm sure I read that first time round. It just hit me though. Aside from it being a really interesting read.....hmmmm........well really. In all honesty, what right do we have to know so much? I mean we don't really do we? It's so cool.......no scratch that........it's so humble and also endearing that BP let's us share in al lthis stuff. I mean really, BP talks to us like we are peers. I get peeved when people demand answers to things on this forum when it is stuff that really, we shouldn't expect or even have a right to an answer to. I know that has nothing to do with this thread by the way. I'm talking about some other questions that have been fired BP's way over the past couple of years on this forum.

And...........I haven't ever really said thanks. I never really said thanks properly for my JP6 either. Thing is tho. I paid for it right? But I know alot of us here feel so thankful anyway. So thanks BP. Thanks for sharing. And thanks for caring. And thanks for my JP6. It's funny. I've never set foot in the states yet SLO kinda feels so close to home.

Puppyonacid, I demand to know how you really feel, and I demand to know your bank account number and pin code, now!!!!! LOL Just kidding....I know what you're talking about and agree. Love BP and thank him for all that he does divulge. He reminds me of my closest uncle a giving heart and deals done on handshakes.

Guys it just gets toughter and tougher or maybe it is just the adjustment to the real information age that says that everybody is entitled to every bit of information.

Some of the guys who end up getting banned get so hung up on their perspective of what it should be that they forget that there is tons more to running this place than picking a sig artist o a ltd ed color.

Sometimes I do wonder how long this can go on, but I've wondered that since the day you signed on. Remember THAT? I do. In spite of the adjustments we all had to make, I think it's overall been positive, don't you?

The learning curve has been steep in places. Personally, I've had to adjust and learn, which is a really GOOD thing - I've been knocked out of my comfort zone more than once or twice, and sometimes I need that.

Stick around, will ya? The road to hell and so forth, eh?

Im not going anywhere...

I know that many times you have emailed me or called me when it gets sticky and tried to get me to step back and let you or another mod be the bad guy. I have no interest in coming on here as a puppet or corporate monkey.

I now laugh when someone fires a shot at me and gets a shot back and then says "Im boycotting his product, How dare him speak to the customer like that." They have never sat down and thought....."Hmmmmm, I just told the owner of a company that he is all wrong, Fat, bald, and stupid and he just gave it back to me......I didnt just tell him that I disagreed with his actions I told him that he was a moron............The part of entitlement that is funny is the guy or gal who feels that they are entitled to tell me in any fashion they choose, but I dont get the same rules of engagement.

In business you are trying to predict the future and the customers desires. You make the call. We make mistakes. We miss calls. We may not see something in an artist that some of you do. We may paint a bass that gets named Heinz.

I have said many times that I refuse to give corporate speak. "Thank you for your input, press 4 for more BS" Ill tell as much as I can without breaching someone elses confidentiality. There are strings that some of you swear by that I cant tell you that they are made by GHS or Daddario because it isnt my place to uncover another businesses marketing or daddario's customer base. I just chuckle when I read passionate comparisions between the identical product. (No, Jack Im not talking about Thomastic...)

Or how about an artist that some want a sig instrument for and the artist brings absolutely zero to the table design wise or input. OR that artist is lazy? I cant tell that one how it is becuase first off it isnt my place to harm a career and the diehards dont want to hear it anyway. No guessing here lets just keep it hyplothtical. Its happened with bassists and guitarists that we tried to work with.
If someday I'm hurting the business and affecting peoples livelyhood then I may slip into a forum coma.

you just keep doing what you're doing BP....you're a class act all the way, a genuine person who cares, and someone who I'm sure would be a great boss to work for.

the problem I see with message boards is that 1.) the intent of many messages are unclear as there isn't that eye to eye contact and/or 2.) some people are cowards and hide behind their computer screen blasting others without thinking or even caring about the repercussions of what they're typing.
