hey all just signed up here..i got a sterling the other day and while it was being delivered it got really hot up in that case it was in..im a little worried that this may have damaged the bass although i have no reason to think that there is anything wrong with it after playing it..just curious if anyone knows whether or not i should be worried that the extreme heat may cause some degree of damage...

ps..this is the best bass i have ever played!!

If it plays good, sounds good and feels good, it's probably nothing to worry about. These basses are pretty tough.

Always be concerned (or worried, if you like) about extreme temperatures and your guitar (or bass in this case).

That was meant for general purposes. You're right, though...worry is not good.

You know, these basses are shipped all over the world in trucks, airplanes, trains and ships under all kinds of conditions. They are not shipped in temperature controlled environments. I extreme temperatures would damage them, none would ever even make it to the retail stores.

I mean, it's not like it's Coors beer! :p

Yeah, just another reason why I won't use Fenders anymore. I have rarely found a P or J-Bass that hasn't had a neck go at least a little cockeyed from heat. Same with Warwick basses.

I am not a wood expert but would the EBMM unfinished necks be prone to
temp, humidity extremes. I always keep 2 fresh desipacs in the Sterling case to offset any FL humidity fluctuations.

would it be preferable to keep one of those silica pack thingies in the case that you store your bass in? is it necessary?

Jon..

you need a colon ":" both before and after the word "rolleyes". Maybe you backspaced over it or accidentally 'selected' it when adding the Big Grin?

What I'm trying to say is.. your colon at the 'end of the line' is missing... err..

I really meant to say, it's alimentary...

umm.no...

Unless it was 200 degree's i think your fine, Now if it was a New Fender Bass you'd be off to the Ice Rink to play hockey.

All you'll ever need to do with the Ernie Ball Music Mans is ajust the neck with tempature move ment which will take all of 5 seconds.
