I'm thinking of buying a used Sterling HH--- can anyone tell me a little about the HH as apposed to the HS ? I just got a new Hs and I am liking it alot--so naturally I started to go all hyper when I saw the HH for sale at a good price. Any comments--thanks guys...... and girls( I think).........

I've never played a HS, but I love my HH. Too bad you're a state over or you could check out the HH.

Thanks for the offer. I've been using my HS at outdoor gigs and it sounds good outside! It's turning out to be what everyone thinks it is--kick ass! I'm waiting for the indoor gigs to start so I can see if we are balls to the walls. As far as I know the bass (HH) will be ready for inspection tomorrow. I hope it has all it's teeth etc. A little mojo would be nice too. Bass out!

NoT A Sterling But A Sting Ray
Okay --the bass was advertized as a Sterling but when I get over there (seller) I see that it is indeed a Sting Ray 2006 HH. I'm searching around for the control schematic---basically I want to know the positions on the five way switch (what each is with the 2 HB's).
So now I am the proud owner of another EBMM killer bass ! I have aquiered these in a very short time. I've only played my Sterling HS on three gigs and Now I'm into the Sting Ray and that whole deal. I'm a happy camper like a racoon at a pic-nic trash can.

Thank you sir--NOW I can't find the color listed anywhere for the new Ray--it's a gun metal metallic grey but I don't know what the MM designation is for that color--it wasn't listed with the Sting Ray colors that I found. I finally found the control schem--sorry for so many newbie rookie learner kid waif questions but hey you guys know--just ask you!
I know what I don't know. I've always known that but I didn't know till I thought about it. So now I know.

The guy who I got the bass from really didn't seem to care about the bass---It was dirty as hell (that's a no-no) all kinds of gack on it and the case is just mauled,-. it had a bent tuner---lot's of cleaning and tweaking (7 hours) to get her back in shape. Haven't played it thru my amp yet!

Thanks oli---I'm into it alot. I'm going to use it at my next gig. I have found that it really does offer up some different sounds than my Sterling . I'm going to have all basses covered! I don't see me needing any more basses after this but we both know -I say that now and as soon as someone comes along with a good deal on another one -I'm going to be tempted for sure.
The guy I got the Sting Ray from plays in a national touring act. They were home for two weeks and then they go back on the road for 60 days. They go to Europe after that. Must be nice. I can tell you he didn't take care of the Ray very well. He said it was his back up bass. It was more like the forgotten bass. His loss is my gain. I got the thing all tweeked and honkin' now. She sings like a bird.
