Question Sterling JP50 split coil

Hi,

Has anyone attempted a coil split mod on stock neck humbucker of JP50? Is it worth it? I miss the sound of single pickup on clean.

I use the middle position with quite a bit of sucess for beautiful cleans.

A split neck coil is nice though.

But in the middle position both humbuckers are active, am I right? And both act as humbuckers?
