Hi all, I recently got my Sterling JP50 (yesterday, in fact) and was wondering if any of you guys have had trouble with adjusting the tremolo arm. My problem is that I adjust it so that it stays where you leave it but, at the same time, you can push it out of the way easily, but the thing is that the screw seems to loosen and the arm stops being tight and starts to move around more and more so I have to re-adjust the arm screw. I adjusted it the way I wanted it yesterday and it only stayed that way for a day, and that without much trem use. Is this normal? Can I fix it without having to glue the screw?
Thanks a lot.

PS: great guitar, thanks to Pat and all the Sterling crew for making this great instrument, and sorry for my english :D.

Alittle loctite or thread lock will help keep the set screw in place. I tightened the arm on my JP50 to where it stayed put and stayed in place, the arm had no play this way. It hasn't moved onme yet.

The tension of the bar itself will eventually loosen up over time. So you may want to tighten it a bit past where you prefer and eventually it'll work itself to where it can be moved out of the way easily but still have no play when your using the bar.

Jeff i check in here daily several times. May not always post. But I am a lurking.

i don't see the super glue really holding. try tightening it and let the arm work itself looser over time. my arm on my JP50 stays put and I haven't needed to tighten it since.

This is a common problem with Strats. Go to your local hardware store and buy some Teflon tape (extremely thin tape) and wrap some of it at the threads. Worked for me :]
