Hey all! New to the forums!

I've been searching for a new guitar for a long while, but I can't seem to find many other guitars that have the same features that the JP50 has that I'm looking for. However, I cannot try it out as my local guitar center does not carry it.

My question for you guys is this: Is it safe to buy without trying?
I know the general rule of buying guitars is "try before buy" but I mean, this guitar seems too awesome to pass up. I've been to guitarcenter a few times and nothing really caught my interest that's in my price range.

I'm not really all that concerned with sound as I'll be getting a new amp soon and can always switch out the pick-ups. It just needs to feel fine.

tl;dr Is this guitar a safe "buy without trying" guitar? And also, how is the neck in comparison to an Epi SG? Ibanez RG?

Just make sure to buy it from a company that has a 30-45 day return policy. I've done this quite a few times as there are no stores around me that carry the gear I want. Sure I have to pay return shipping but I figure $15-$20 is worth it to demo a guitar in my own home.

As for the JP50, never tried one. Sorry.

Where do you live?

If it were an EBMM JP, I'd say go ahead. I have not personally played enough JP50s to say the same yet. I will say that all that I've played have been great. My favorite in the SBMM line......

the few I have played have all played really well... the only chance you are really taking in purchasing one with out playing it first is that you won't like the overall feel of the guitar which is something that can happen with any guitar at any price if you don't play it first.

But make sure you order if from a place with a good return policy and you are set.
