Hi all, I just received my Sterling Music Man LK100 and am over the moon with everything... except the tuners! They feel much cheaper than everything else on the guitar and the B string doesn't want to lock in at all and it slips more often than not.

I want to swap them out for much higher quality tuners, preferably the Schaller M6s that the EBMM Lukes come with as every set I've played has been perfect! However, I can't seem to find concrete evidence anywhere to suggest whether these will fit or not, some forums say they drop in perfectly, others say that the headstock is too thick on and the Schallers won't quite make it through. Please could anyone advise whether they do in fact drop in or not, and if not, any suggestions on locking tuners that will drop straight in with no modification?

Hi,
your main concern would be the distance between the bottom of the headstock and strings.
the easiest way to check your headstock thickness and EBMM headstock
or post height from base of tuner to the string hole center. then compare to the Schallers you are going to get
ask seller for dedicated Schaller tuners to ensure short post 4+2 set
