The Sterling Ray 35 is now my "go to" bass for most of my gigs and sessions.....

I watched both of your reviews on these basses and they sound really good u did a great job. I have a regular Ray34 in honeyburst and it sounds awesome but i would love to get the CA because of the 2 band preamp but i dont like how narrow the fretboard is compared to the standard Ray34 which has a nice chunky neck which is good for my big hands. The Ray35 sounds good too but i dont play 5 string

Thanks for the reviews..I especially LOVE how you were a 19mm convert. This is a highly heated subject around here lately.

Haha!! Thanks!! I actually didn't realize what a "heated" debate this is!! To tell you the truth I feel just as comfortable on 17.5 as I do on 19mm....I just had to get it in my hands and play it out!! I still have a couple of 5's that are 19mm. Also, the tone on the Ray 35 is KILLER!!!! I used it last night and on the gig this a.m. and got nothing but compliments on the sound!!!

I just bought the Mint Green Ca. It's incredible. Now after seeing your video of the Ray 35 I have to have one. The B string sounds friggin awesome on that thing.

Yes!! The B string is KILLING!! As good, and sometimes better than many 5's that I've owned in the past that have cost up to three times the $$ of this bass!! Great job Sterling!!!

I've been having some fun lately with "not so expensive basses". I've bought two in the last few months that together cost less than any other one bass I own.

I wish these basses had been around when I was a young whippersnapper! We had crappy choices, trust me, when it came to anything other than the obvious (pricey) gear.

I have spent the last few weeks re-learning four string bass. The SBMM Ray34ca has made it FUN.

I think the only "cheap-o" basses were HORRIBLE Hondo's when I was a young punk!!! Haha!!
Btw-The CA34 is a great bass!!!!
