Sterling saddle screw

I bought my used Musicman Sterling a little over a year ago from 12th Fret in Toronto. It came with a good setup but now I'm just doing a few tweaks and discovered one of the saddle screw heads is stripped. I'm about a 4 hour drive from the store and was wondering what size of a screw it is and if it's something I might be able to find off the shelf somewhere here in Ontario Canada. Thanks.

Bring the bass to a hardware store where you know they have a good selection of nuts and bolts. They should be able to help find what you need.

A good hardware store, usually a local or regional one, not a mega-mart like Home Depot or Lowe's.

I would reach out to either EBMM customer service or call The Twelfth Frets service dept. Either source should be able to tell you the size of the screw required providing you tell them exactly which one it is you need. That way you're taking the guess work out.

Hardware stores, good ones, have so far proven
useless for saddle screws, which are apparently
a specialty item.

Small allen wrench driven socketed screws of an
appropriate diameter and threading CAN be had
at these stores, but they are always too short,
cuz they are "grub screws" such as the ones you
find securing your control knobs to their shafts.

Same with typical intonation adjusting screws,
including those on EBMMs. The diameter and
pitch of such screws IS sold in various lengths
but never as long as those used for intonation,
again a specialty item.

It's not an impossible quest, so just rejoice in
the fact that you're not looking for stuff for a
Steinberger bridge or some other exotica

A 6-32 x 3/8" set screw will work, as will one that's 1/2" long... Hope this helps,
