Newbie here... Need user advice... I'm looking for a hardtail so what's the lowdown on the Silo 20? I have an OLP Luke and love the size and playability. Pros - Cons? Thanks in advance...

the silo20 is a 24 fret guitar (silo30 is 21 frets). Both good guitars...better quality than OLP, from what I gather...and even better than the new SUB/silo3. Supposedly, the Sterling guitars (discontinued) had upgraded hardware and electronics...although, the pickups were still generic (except on the "D" models)

Anyway, I love my silo hardtail. It makes the guitar resonate so much more, strings don't break as often (never, really), I don't have to worry about tuning issues if a string does break, less setup issues, etc. I rarely used the trem anyhow...there are very few players that use a trem musically and I wasn't one of them.

spoke too soon. Sterling guitars are back...don't know if the quality is as good (or better), but the name is back. They're even coming out with a Luke Model (LK100D) w/ Dimarzio pickups.

Sterling Silo 20

I ordered the Silo 20. I'll post my $0.02 on it later. Thanks for your input.

The Silo 30D would be decent thanks to the DiMarzio pickups. Otherwise, it's not worth upgrading a Silo, better saving money for a used USA made Silhouette.
