I have a sterling that is about 10 years old. When playing, the sound will frequently cut out as the bass is moved around. I brought it to a local music store, but they couldn't figure out what was wrong. They suggested that there might be a problem with the circuit board in the bass. Has anyone ever had a similar problem? Any suggestions? Thanks.

Usually when something like that happens, it is either the jack, or the battery connection. I would start there. If you have any more questions you can email me at [email protected]

i had a similar issue with my sterling and it was due to the new battery being a tad undersized so the connectors werent always in contact ... i ended up sticking in a folded peiece of paper between the battery and the battery cover and that made sure the 9volt was always touching the contacts

We have found that not all batteries are the same size. Even from the same company.
