I switched between the neck and middle positions last night. I'm really digging the bass, although it will take a little time to get used to a 4-string again.

Bridge for me too nearly all the time with the mids boosted.
If any slap is called for I sometimes use the neck to scare the guitarist.

Just a thought...
There are other factors at play here - for example, type of string or amp - that impact the switch selector position...
For the longest time I played with the switch in the neck position while my only amp was a 1x12 combo. The neck position gave me a bit more edge.
I recently picked-up a Hartke 4x10XL - the bite I'm getting now is much sharper and the neck position is too bright - the bridge position is just right!
I am looking to add a 1x15 or 2x15 to round it out a bit... Might go back to the neck at that point, who knows!
