If you're quibbling over the equivalent of the price of a pickguard you're wasting a lot of energy over f-all. If the bass is that close to your target price, just do it.

Thanks, guys! Mark, I know it's just the price of a pickguard, but a nice one is about $50 which is more than 10% of the guitar :D But you and Randy are right... I'll follow the Nike ad slogan. I've wanted one more since they've been discontinued.

I paid $392 for the used SUB sterling I bought a year ago. However, my bass didn't come with a hardshell case. (I think I was fairly lucky and got quite a bargain).

Hey guys, he's gonna meet me at $450 with the case and shipping so I'm gonna go for it. This is the first time I've ever bought from someone off Talkbass.

Any pointers so I don't get myself into a bad situation? (Can you tell I'm paranoid?)
