Hi everyone,

My name is Justin, I'm a newbie to this forum.

After 18 years of playing guitar I finally splurged out and as of a few weeks ago bought a Ernie Ball JP in candy apple red and a Steve Morse fixed bridge fixed bridge in Blue and couldn't be happier.

I have owned tonnes of guitars over the years and nothing... seriously... nothing compares. I am in love with these inanimate objects.

I was after some assistance, if possible.

I am thinking of putting Graph Tech Saddles on my Morse. I do like modding :)

Question 1: What size/version am I to buy? I am at a loss.

Question 2: Has anyone ever tried them on the Morse? Does anyone have a recommendation?

Take care,
Justin

Hi Justin-

I've tried several different saddles on my Morse- piezo (Graph Tech), Titanium, etc. My recommendation is to keep the stock ones unless you have a real need to change them.

On the newer bridges, the intonation screws are held in with hex nuts and locking compound. It's a pain to remove these to change the saddles. On the older ones (with circlips), it's much easier. So if you have the kind with the hex nuts (most likely since that's the majority of Morses out there) and want to change them, you might find it easier to just swap in a new bridge (you could by one from Graphtech with the saddles already in place). Also makes it dead simple to swap back to the old one if need be.

Thank you Beej for your help,

I really like your idea to just swap it to a Graph tech bridge. Would you be able to confirm which bridge is correct and will fit straight in? The underside states Gotoh TonePros.

Cheers, Justin

Pretty sure the Graph Tech 6mm ones will fit. (I'd confirm with them to be sure.)

For reference, I think the Tonepros one on the current Morse/Y2Ds is the T3BT.
