Have any of you guys adjusted the pickup height on your SM models? What were the results?

I spent countless hours adjusting my pickups ...
I tried the Morse way but now I use a different setting : my humbuckers are quite low and the single coils are low on the bass side but higher on the treble side. Thus, my single coils have a bit more power especially in the treble. That's the best way I found in order to emulate the "strat-rock-sound" used by palyers like Rory Gallagher.
