Does anyone know if the various pickguards for the Steve Morse model can be purchased directly from Ernie Ball?

What are the exact string size too?

Thanks

Chandler makes them for EB. You can order them here.

The stock strings are 9-42's. From the FAQ on the EB home page:

"Steve Morse: 9-13-16(all RPS)-26-32-42, available in singles only"

Keith, I got that info from the site FAQ, so just assumed it was correct.

Q: Which strings do you use at the factory to string up your guitars?

A: The Ernie Ball strings we use on all of our guitars is as follows:
Steve Morse: 9-13-16(all RPS)-26-32-42, available in singles only

Weird. Unless he's/it's been changed in the past few months.

His website, a poster EB put out with Steve, Luke, and Albert standing with their siggy guitars, and lots of articles I've read on steve all have said 10-13-16-26-32-42. Going way back.

When I bought my steve morse model in summer '03 the dealer (discount music in Utah) even threw in 12 of each string. Which was cool because they don't come as a set.

Puzzling.

Yeah, that is weird- I'm with you that I though Steve played with a 10 instead of a 9. Maybe when they started this guitar in production they agreed to use 9s? I'm sure Jon'll know :D

Hey, I know that dealer, that's the only worth MM dealer here in UT. They are a pretty good store, I go there semi-frequently. They never have the EBMM I wwant to play with though. And I believe I played that Luke a couple times before you snagged it Kbaim. Didn't think anyone would actually buy it.

It's quite a trip for me to go to that store, it MUST have been quite a trip for you. :p

I tried straight 10's on mine for a while but I found them harder to play, the Low E wouldn't intonate, and the frets were being chewed up. So I went back to 9's (which I usaually use anyway)
I am always happy to say Keith is right.

I guess the FAQ (along with other things on the website) needs updating.

Didn't buy a Luke from that store. It was the Steve Morse in black sparkle they had. And we did the whole tranny over the phone. Bought it sight unseen and had only played one once at NAMM at the Line6 booth. Goodanov for me.

Craig over at Discount Music in Utah was very nice to deal with.

....And so were his 14 wives.
 :p ;) :D

Thank you, Goodnite!

Okay, how about this...

4 of them were nice, 9 of 'em kinda bitchy. And 1 smelled real bad.
