I've never seen a SM Y2D, never played a SM Y2D. I was wondering what the pickups sound like? (as compared to the Axis, JP6 or Silhouette, the others I've owned.)
Thanks! ;)

Very cool clips!

I'm sure this is a redundant question. What's the neck like compared to JP or Axis?

I played a Y2D at the open house. I'd say the pickups have more bite than the JP. They sound hotter to my ear.

As for the neck, as a Petrucci owner I feel that the Y2D neck is more comfortable to me than an Axis neck. It doesn't feel as thick as the Axis neck. But don't get me wrong, the Y2D neck is not as thin as the JP.

Just my two cents.

What type of wood (s) are used in the body of the y2d? It looks like a maple top, but I doubt the whole body is maple. Is it poplar, like the older Morse?
