When I took my brand new (but seven year shop aged) sparkle ray out of the case for the first time, there was some sticky residue close at the bottom, nearby where the eq controls are located.
I wiped it away thinking that someone at the shop had spilled a soft drink over it.

But I just observed at the location where the output jack lies, there's sticky stuff (the original glue?) oozing out of the furry case lining and maculating the bass. What could I possibly do about it... it seems to have soaked the furry lining there completely. :(

Is there a known cure to such a problem?

Staining. Looking nasty.

You don't often see that word on the internet unless it's an eye disease discussion board.

when i work fro sam ash, skb was really good at replacing thier cases (manufacture errors). contact them (i wouldn't tell how old the case is) maybe they'll replace it (it won't have the music man logo but, the problem will be solved)

Thanks for the pointers! Will try writing SKB, and maybe give the EB distributor here a call, just to know what they think about the issue.

BTW, I want to report back on the outcoming.
Showed the problem to the EBMM distrubitor / customer service and they told me there's nothing that can be done about it, especially since the bass and the case itself are already six years old (but I bought it new from a store this August).
So, faced with the fact that I'd need to shell out the cash to buy a new case anyway, I gave it a try to wash out the sticky stuff from the lining... used some houshold paper (the thick fluffy stuff), watered it and started rubbing... now the sticky stuff is gone, but the fur of the lining is not as fluffy anymore in the area.

Bottom line: No dollars spend to have a non-sticky case for everyday use!
