Anybody own or have checked these out. Noticed Rainbow Guitar carries these. Price tag is a little high. Wondering what y'alls opinion is for these things.
I played through one at a local store. That cab blew everything in the store away. Easily. I want one.
I think I found a cab just as good though, for less money. I have a Hartke 2x12 Pro Series cab. You don't see those in stores (at least I haven't seen any). For its size it kicks major butt.
My "big rig" consists of a Berg HT310 (and a power/pre). They are discontinued so you would need to look used, but they are a fantastic "one cab does it all" cab.
Jim B. definitely sprinkles a little magic on every cab!
I own a couple Bergs. I have a HT210s and EX112s stack and I freak'n love these cabs. I'll give you a few reasons why these cabs are worth the $$$$.
1. They have a great pure and uncolored sound. I've tried these cabs out with several heads and every time I've liked the Bergs over the "matching" cabs. The sound difference is like taking a blanket off the front of your amp-Amazingly powerful sound.
...And if Punch if what you are looking for these cabs define punchy.
2. The size of these babys- From front to back they are 11 1/2" deep! This makes them very easy to carry and at 55 and 45 lbs respectivly they won't break your back.
I drive a car , not a van or truck, so ease of portability is very important to me. Both Cabs will easily fit on my back seat.
3. They can handle alot of wattage. The 2x10 is rated at 500 watts at 8 ohm and the 1x12 400 watts at 8 ohm. This also means that you might want to have a decent amount of power running through them for best effect. I was worried that a 2x10 might not offer me the clarity and punch that I was looking for since I play 5 string but it handles the low B with ease and authority.
Jim Bergantino says that you'll hear the difference in 3 notes...
