Hi,
I just got myself a Stingray 4 and I get a "sweeping" distortion just after attack when playing medium to hard direct over the pickup - on the A-string.
I have tried raising the strings and lowered pickup drastically - but still get this ugly distortion - that is even clearer if I add treble - ex. through an amp.
I can especially hear it if I play C#2, 5 fret. It's not fretbuzz - quite sure of that. It's an overdrive sound.
I would be happy go get some ideas of what problem could be and hope I do not need to replace the pickup.
