Your choice is between ceramic and alnico PUs.
There is an enclopaedic amount of discussion
about that difference already available via the
search feature. And I wish you rotsaruck when
you start wading into it :)

One thing about differences of opinion on this
forum is that there's never any hostility, so it's
definitely gonna be a rewarding search !

Elricko, thaz a trick question ! Often as not, your ears
will tell you "No preference, buy both !" And thaz how
we wind up with so many gear sluts around here :)

Acoarst "No preference" doesn't mean "No difference".
If there was no difference then you'd have no reason
to buy both:-(

Ceramic is brighter. I prefer ceramic for FL but alnico
for fretted. I don't like "spanky" metalic tone. If you
like "spanky" then you might prefer ceramic PUs for
fretted bass.

For FL, I'd recommend ceramic to almost everyone.

All above is just personal opinion. It has not been
confirmed by the FBI or NSA.
