Can anyone help with the following information.....

Using Stingray 5 3 band with Trace Elliot GP7 pre amp.

With the Stingray 5 vol pot set to max and the EQ flat (3 band - though should be the same for 2 band), what setting do you need to have the amp input vol con at to light the overload led. I think my new Stingray 5 is faulty as I cant get enough output from it compared to my old bass (a Washburn XB 400 active) - not even with the amp set to passive mode. Unfortunately I'm not in a position to compare it with another Stingray 5 and dont want to take it back without some info first.

Thanks

Yes I have replaced the battery but thanks for the advice

Further information: If I measure the output from the bass using an audio millivoltmeter I only get 30mV max on the open G string and 150mv doing the same test the on Washburn, so thats the problem I think . I cant believe that a bass like the Stingray is designed to be so low an output and EB dont know the answer except its supposed to be higher than average - but whats the average!

You migt want to contact EB staff via email or the 800 number. I'm certain they could help you.

Well, you COULD do that by going to a guitar shop that has EBs and try it out. But that doesn't really seem like great advice.

I am using a SR5 on a TE GP12SMX. Gain knob is always at max. With SR5 eq AND TE eq are all flat, I never get the red overload led lit (just checked now). I'd say your situation is normal (or we both have faulty SR5s or fault TEs)...

Thanks very much for that. I dont think that we both have faulty Basses!. At least I know that this is normal. It just seemed very strange that two acitve basses could have very different outputs, and more odd that EB couldn't tell me what the output should be as I thought the designer would know!.
Once again thanks for checking
