I tried my first recording using the Stingray 5 I bought a few days ago, these basses have such a great sound that I didn't have to do any post processing, I only used the on-board eq that's it and the bass sits nicely in the mix. The tune is called "Wishful Thinking" you can check it out at my audio webpage via the link below, the trk is a smooth jazz tune so beware:

Thx very much for the compliments Fretbuzz! I find that Smooth Jazz is one of those rare places that the bass guitar actually gets to shine through, Nathan East proves that with the group Fourplay. If your interested, below is a link to my new page, it is going to be dedication more to the Stingray 5 bass than anything else. I made the new webpage based on a photo of the same Stingray 5 that I have, a black one with a rosewood fretboard. I found the photo at the Bass Palace website.

Paul, that sounded excellent; both the tune, and your playing. Your style reminds me a little of the bass line on, "Forget Me Nots," by Patrice Rushen. ;)

Smooth Jazz is my favorite genre.

If anyone wants to check 3 CDs that fit right in, check out this site: www.higheroctave.com

1) Click on Smooth Jazz
2) Go to page 4 (you can check out the whole site, but go here first)
3) Listen to the 3 "Smooth Grooves" Cds. So good, and not expensive at all.

I have all three, and they are great. They're better with the lights off.

Enjoy, all.

Hey Bassmanjones, that sounds great, when I want to take a break from rock, smoth jazz is one of my alternate types of music choices. If you go to my website in my signature below, the song "My Enemy" was played with a Stingray5.
It is a nu-metal tune so beware !!! :D
