I clicked the link thinking, "Surely, it's not that bad." And, Shirley--it was.

A monkey with a screwdriver that had been smoking something did the custom routing. The pictures will have to tell the story, because the body is in a state of terrified shock.

Sounds like he bought it that way thinking he could do something with it. The mind boggles at the original intent.

He also has the original pickup (someone here probably needs one), and *gulp* one tuner available in his auctions.

Look, normally I'd say "it's your bass, do what you like," but if you ever even think of attempting such a thing again, I'll see to it that your arm gets gnawed off by a chinchilla.

Maybe the person was going to install a Russian Big Muff Pi, still inside the chassis.

Well, it was a Stingray body. Now it's a black chunk of wood with a gaping hole in it. One can only imagine what kind of depravity was in store for it.

Seriously, don't fix it if it ain't broke.

Actually, the greater mystery is why some fool would bid $9.99 for it!
I guess I'm a fool as I'd pay $10 for that PoS all day long. That and $10 worth of wood epoxy and ya got yourself a fun little project...not to mention giving this baby a new lease on life.
