Stingray body questions

Hi guys,

i'm totally new to this forum. I tried a stingray lately and fell in love with it...

Now, i can't wait to buy one but i want an ash body.

Is it true that i have to chose a transluscent color or a sunburst to be sure to have an Ash body?

I've been told that selected hardwood means most of the times basswood...

I don't recall when they started...it was quite a few years ago, but all Stingray bodies are now ash.

yeah as far as I know the Bongo is the only one in bass wood

Yeah, they tried a lot of woods, as well as other materials, when it was in developement and basswood was the best match for the preamp/pickups on the Bongo.

I was under the impression that sunburst finishes were alder. I think that's the industry standard, no?

All Stringrays and Sterlings are Ash now!

Bongo is Basswood, yes.
