stingray body

hi,
i was just wondering how many pieces of wood is used to build the stingray body? i read somewhere that the fender american p-bass uses 1 piece, and that supposedly sounds better than 3 or 4 pieces

Usually 2 pieces of Ash is the Norm. We have seen some 1 piece Ash bodies come out of the factory although not often.
