Here's a pic from my weekend gig. Stingray Classic 5 in Tobaccoburst. My rig is a Carvin B1500 run through a LDS 15/6.

nice southern flair to that picture and a beautiful Ray. I think I'm pretty much set on the TBurst for my future Classic. I just need to sell my standard 2 band early 2000s ray to finance one and that's not going to be emotionally easy as I need to make sure the Classic can really top her, feel and tone wise (and the fact I have no justification for owning 4 Rays!!).
guess I'm better off getting around selling my german made basses first ;)

Oh my that is great.

How do you find the sustain on the Classic 5? My Classic 4 seems to have endless sustain - I imagine the low B must be like thunder on the 5?

Great looking rig! If you ever want to part with your bass, let me know. That is the best looking classic I have seen.

Is that a flame neck with a bird's eye fingerboard?

Nope, there is flame on the fingerboard, too. You just can't see it because of the angle.

You know, I've spent the last 4 years buying and trading basses, looking for the one that's the best for me. Sadowsky, Lakland, Lull, Fender, Valenti and even several EBMMs. After spending the last month with my Classics, I think I've found my bass. In other words, don't hold your breath. ;) [/fanboy]

The low B is awesome! The white C5 I had was incredible. I wish I could have handled the weight of it. The new C5 I just got did the same thing. Monsterous B string. Lots of sustain. Clear as a bell. Like you I found out that my C4 has loads of sustain. I do a slap bass solo in my bands version of George Micheal's "I want your sex" and last night was the best it sounded in a long time. The C4 helped make it shine. Oh course I had a little to do with it too. :p

By the way very nice looking Classic 5 you've got there.

That would be my choice of finish and fretboard.

How much does it weigh?

Any recordings of it with that rig?

I have no idea what it weighs. No problems for me on longer gigs. Unfortunately, the only recordings I have are of my other classic made on a FlipVideo camera. Not very good......
