Some Pre EB serials are not chronological but IMO yours is a Feb/Mar 1979.
In 1979, MM commenced adding a "Music Man" engraving to the tail of the bridge.
For accurate dating you would have to remove the neck and check the date on the heel and also in the body pocket.
