I was sorting out old files on my 'puter from previous bands I'm in, and I found this very short video snippet from a DVD we made to go along with a demo CD. SR4 goodness, with flats. And yes, we're miming to the demo CD

Thanks guys for comments. The chick who filmed the video was a student who obviously had a lot of fun creating a kinda 70's vibe when she edited it. If I can work out how to convert the other tracks on the DVD to mpeg I'll upload those as well sometime.

PS. The Stingray on that recording was wearing Chromes, recorded direct from the balanced out of an SWR400.

How did you find the flats on the ray Mark? I have TI flats on my jazz, but slinkys on the ray. Do you loose some punch with the flats? The clip certainly sounded good.

No loss of punch for me at all. All my basses, EBMM and others, have worn flats exclusively for 15 years. As you pointed out, the proof is in the recording.

Trouble is, I slap a couple of songs, and I must admit I've never tried slapping flats live. I love the feel of the TIs, but they'd be too flappy for slappy. Maybe something with some more tension, D'Addario chromes? Dunno, never tried 'em.
