Help! Stingray Serial Number

I'm new to this, and not very computer friendly. I recently bought a used Stingray, but the owner had no idea of the year of it,as he bought it used and never inquired about its age.I bought it because it played and sounded awesome. The serial number is E17855. Any info will be greatly appreciated.

Hi Bill your number E 17855 sits nicely between these 2 numbers ?? or was it done differently


E17816...27 Sept 2000. Black with Rosewood. Matt Black pg. 3 Band EQ.
E17895...Sept 2000. Candy Apple Red with Maple. White pg. 3 Band EQ
