Went to a local band night last night. A band called Odd Shaped Head were playing (http://www.oddshapedhead.com). They were very good. The bass player/singer had a white SR4. I had a chat with him after, he'd recently got it and was loving it. He was using a GK 1001-RB head too. Sweet tone.

Knew it was a bongo, but must admit I didn't go as far as to actually count the tuning pegs! :D

I remember you were looking for a suitable avatar, so "nice design", unknown forumite artiste.

Cool band, I like White StingRay's - A while ago someone posted a Trans White StingRay with a Rosewood fretboard, OMG that bass was Beautiful!!!
I love the white with the wood showing though.

Yes Bill, 'Rays are amazing basses, and they sound great running through just about anything. My dad just bought a Mesa Boogie Big Block 750 and a Mesa Boogie 4x10 cab. It sounds awesome. It sounds a lot like an Ampeg SVT, but brighter, and hotter. Because its a hybrid amp, half tube, half solid state.
But I'm still undecided on what bass amp to buy

Mesa

Tough choice, though i was very impressed with my dads Mesa
