Hello, the volume knob on my Stingray is acting a bit flakey. It wont decrease the volume all the way but thankfully will turn up all the way. When I touch any of the knobs I get a buzzing noise that would indicate that I have a grounding issue. The tuning knobs seem ok. This just started today. Does anyone have any thoughts on this?
Do these tend to get worse? Thank you.

Sounds like the pot may be dirty. But the customer service team will point you in the right direction.

Sounds like the ground connection on one of the pot terminals has disconnected.

But customer service will be able to offer more help, of course.

Yikes, had my guitar tech get back to me and it looks like the preamp needs to be replaced, basically everything but the pickups. Ouch. Anyone have any idea as to what could cause this to go south like that?

When and where did you purchase the instrument? If it was new, then you have a warranty (one year) and should talk to the retailer where you bought the bass.

If it was used, then contact Customer Service and see if they can walk you through what it could be. I would not trust the first opinion you got.

Other than that, it's all internet guesswork. So email or call CS.

I had them check and troubleshoot it with EB customer service and they agreed. We had to send the old one back and EB sent a new one. Kind of an expensive part but I am glad its fixed.
