Hi,
:) I'm Alessio from Italy!
I'm really excited for the new stingray HH and waiting to test it.
I was looking around to buy a stingray4 (mono humbucker) when I read about the new HH model.
Now I'm very confused. Don't know if is better waiting for the HH ...and wasting a lot of time: Sr HH yet is not imported in Italy! Some months to wait, said the stores.

So I have some question for you:
Can I have the classical Stingray sound from the HH + more variations or I will have many sounds but not the classical ray sound?
What' s the electronics of the HH model? Stingray, Sterling or Bongo?
And what kind of humbuckers? Alnico (stingray), ceramico (sterling), neodimio (bongo)?

Sorry for too many questions, but I can't find infos from the EB website and I need your help!
Thanx...and excuse me for my terrible english!:p

You get the original Ray sound from the HH (switch position 1). The bridge pup on the HH is in the exact same place as the regular version.

Yes, the classic tone is there. The cool thing is in every position you can tell it is a musicman.

As far as your other questions are concerened. Honestly I dont know, but i imagin it is the same style pre/pickup wiring as the original ray.

I don't know about that. Position 3 seems to be very far from the Musicman tone. It has a nasal character to it. Very pronounced mids in comparison to a Ray IMHO. 3 and 5 with the treb rolled off is almost P like IMHO.

HH SRs (and HH Sterlings I would imagine) could very well be the last bass you need (but you can have as many of them as you want). Very versatile. EB has yet another classic in the making.

According to the official EB folks here, the preamp and controls are all the same Stingray parts. They just added the switch and another pickup. Both pickups have alnico poles like the normal Stingray.

I have to agree that it sounds like a MusicMan in all positions, I've been very impressed with how good the tones are.
