Can anyone tell me what size bass strings come on the stingrays out of factory? I just recently got it and I am used to using a heavier set of strings but like what are on my ray now and dont want to change. Many thanks in advance-

Copied directly from the Ernie Ball Music Man Bass FAQ:

"The 4-string basses are all equipped with Ernie Ball Super Slinky Bass strings, item number 2834, when they leave the factory. The gauges are 45-65-80-100."

(I found these a bit light and restrung with a set of Regular Slinkys (50-70-85-105) which I think give more tone and presence, especially on the D and G strings.)

It's all really personal preference. I use super slinkys (45-100) on my Ray and SUB. I tried the regulars but found them too heavy on the bass side of things. I suppose it's all to do with what you are used to and what sound you like.

I tried the regular slinkys and found they were a bit tight for my taste. I liked the lower end voicings it gave me, but they kind of shot the feel for me. Back to the Super slinkys! Thanks for the insight, guys.
