I know this is a real long shot but it's worth a try...

In 2000/1 my lovely Ernie Ball Musicman Stingray was stolen from me from the Stratford-Upon-Avon area of England.

If anybody has any info, or indeed if anybody has bought it since then please contact me.

description:

Ernie BallMusicMan Stingray '93/'94
Bought second-hand from Bass center in Birmingham in 1995/6
Translucent Red / Rosewood Neck
Neck had un-finished sanded feel
Had a few dings at the time
Black Scratchplate
De-fret by Woodworm Music in Birmingham (lined fretless)
Hipshot D-Tuner
Old-Style Bridge with foam mutes
Serial Number ?????

Thank you for your help,

Paul

That sucks dude.

I know they banned capital punishment in Europe, but the lowlife who did this deserves such a fate.

You never know, longshots sometime payoff...

Good Luck.

Do you have the serial number?

Prob worth contacting the Bass Centre as well.

No serial number, and it was stolen six years ago? That will be hard to find... Still, would be great if it could be recovered. My guess is that some poor ebayer paid good cash for it and would not likely just give it up. :(

Sucks for both sides.

No, I am serious. I really believe someone who stole a $2000 instrument should be executed...

Maybe the irony got lost in translation - just trying to lift the man's spirit a little, brotha... lighten up.

ciao.

Stolen Guitar UK Site

You might want to contact Strings Reunited - a UK listing stolen instruments:
&#9835 StringsReunited - getting your sound back

This is the site that Radiohead's guitar tech Plank writes a blog for.

I have a site here in the US - Screaming Stone - Stolen Instrument List - listing stolen instruments - but I take it one step further - I don't have a passive database of stolen gear, I spread the word with bulletins on myspace, a blog read by a couple hundred musicians, and post stolen gear notices on:
Harmony Central Harmony Central Musician Community Forums
The Gear Page: The Gear Page - Powered by vBulletin
Guitar Trade: Guitar Forum • Index page
Ultimate Guitar UG Community @ Ultimate-Guitar.Com - powered by vBulletin
Guitar Forum: .:Guitar Forum:.
The Music Player Network MusicPlayer Forums: Viewing list of forums

If any of you get ripped off, send me the info, I'll spread the word.

If you get a chance, please check out the list of stolen gear on any of those sites listed above - or just go to myspace.com/screamingstone

rock on.
