Strange Serial on Axis.. or... ?

I have bought a used Axis with the serial

A80182

Is it possible to date it ? The seller had no idea...

If the guitar is an actual EBMM (why wouldn't it be? ), then it should be possible to date it. Jon (Jongitarz) will probably get the date of birth for you later today.

My Axis Sport S/S/H with an A914xx serial number was built in '97, so yours is probably from '96, but Jon or Derek will confirm for you when they get back to work next week...
