So after reading Tim's thread about strap button screws I was wondering what strap locks everybody is using on their guitars. I've never had a guitar fall, YET! I've always thought I should get them before I have an accident. Which ones do you use? What are your reasons for using them over others? Do you use different ones for different guitars? Thanks in advance for all your responses! :)

Schallers for me. Don't know about the other brands, but I picked the Schallers because I had read in the forum that you could use the original EBMM strap buttons screws with them, and I didn't want to mess with drills and such. I'm very happy with them.

I've never had a guitar fall off me while playing but what I do have problems with are jacks pulling out of the guitar, especially in places where there's not alot of room to stand. Any suggestions here? Do they make "jack-locks"? Sorry to hijack this thread (no pun intended).

Your best bet is probably a wireless.

You could try putting the cable through the strap and then into the jack. I do that on my guitar and it never comes out.

I change guitars so much it invariably becomes a hassle and/or I forget. I'dlike to "set it and forget it".

I understand what you mean, but its really not that much more effort. Instead of just taking the cable and going strait to the jack you thread it through the strap before putting in the guitar. For me it takes a split second longer to do that. But its your guitar and your cable and if you think its a pain in the butt, then you don't have to do it. :D

*note* this is not a malacios post in any way shape or form, just an expression of opinion.

I even run the cable through a loop in my jeans at the back to stop me treading on the cable. Always done it like this for some reason!

What an awesome idea. I'm going to start doing that. When I run it through my strap it always lays right beside my right foot and eventually I end up steping on it. Thanks man. :)

Maybe you should patent the idea lol!

I think I oughta stop here!

that jeans thing is a great idea...someone else did suggest coiled cords too. Might go that route.
