So I sparked some conversation in this thread about strap locks and found some people had shallers work and others didn't.
So just to check, I backed out the screws of my Sterling a little and was delighted to find out they fit a set of shaller straplock buttons I had lying around. I went back and tried it again with my regular SUB and nope, the horn screw was too big to fit into the schaller button.
So then I try my SUB Sterling and find that the screw on the horn fits and the other does not. I did buy my SUB Sterling second hand, but I really don't have any reason to believe that the seller messed with the screws, so...
I think two different diameter screw heads were put on my SUB Sterling from the factory.
So I went back and checked the second screw on my regular SUB and found that it fit! So I stole that screw and put it on the SUB Sterling to make the straplock work since I use that guitar more frequently.
Wow, did I make a short story long!
