Lunch yesterday was a prime rib sandwich (or as I like to refer to it...a colon clogger) and a coke. And 2 chocolate chip cookies (or as I like to think of em...vegetables).

I got my first electric guitar in 1976. a beautiful sunburst strat which I still own. In 1979 I got lucky and started lessons with the coolest rock guitar teacher in town. His name was Randy Rhoads and he played in a band called quiet riot and taught guitar tuesday thru saturday. Sweetest guy ever.

After he died in 1982, I was unbelievably sad and gave up guitar for like the next 8 years. When I picked it back up I had forgotten pretty much all the songs I ever knew.

A couple years ago, I put together a band with some talented guys, started concentrating on strictly composing instrumental songs and watched my style really develop.

Best advice Randy ever gave was not to play at one speed. Better to mix it up with interesting phrasing.
